With training in full swing we needed some motivation to get through our 11 mile training run so we promised ourselves to have a pint for every single mile we had put ourselves through earlier in the day. With 3 pints in our belly prior to this pub (on route to watch a Brentford game) we were ready for a fourth. However, due to the football fans heading back from the game the pub had adopted a no football fan policy and locked the front doors, but of course, two respectable gentlemen like us soon wrangled our way in!
JJ had previous in this building but not this actual pub because the old boozer he lovingly remembered had been taken over and given a gastro-makeover! I liked it but JJ wasn’t convinced though a steady flow of totty went some way to appeasing him. We plotted the rest of our evening and where we would meet our guests while making sure at £3.10 a pop that we enjoyed our pints! The walk back to the station highlighted an even closer pub we had missed but them’s the breaks on an MD night and we took it on the chin. Let’s get it right at Uxbridge...
