Start and end the night here |
One of the problems with our self imposed rules is that sometimes we wander off in completely the wrong direction before finding our target pub. This was one of these occasions with us walking a mile or so after leaving the station and turning left. By this time Tim was busting and had to desecrate some holy ground with his sacred slash. Eventually we turned back only to find that the MD pub was a few yards to the right hidden away and so we had missed it. By this time I was having trouble of my own with one of my infamous hunger attacks striking just as we stood waiting for our beer. A massive pile of crisps (and some flirty chatting and innuendo from the barmaid) later and all was well and I could start to enjoy the pub (and the others could stand down from Psycho- alert!). The place has a central bar with smaller sofa areas behind. We stayed in the main area which was big enough at one end for the disco which was being advertised on some rather snazzy digital boards (first time we have seen these in a pub!). For some reason my notes say "Dick and Dom in da Bungalow", which no doubt refers to a hilarious gag or experience, but for the life of me I can't recall what! Maybe inspiration would strike at Hornchurch...?
