We walked to the pub and made our way past the obligatory bouncer. Tim & Guest 1 went for a wander whilst I waited to get served. And waited. And waited... There was an amazing 9 bar staff here and not a single one ever looked in my direction or even looked like thinking about it as they pissed around with plates of raspberries and mixed shabby cocktails for the sorts. I had had enough and wasn't going to stay, so we decided to go to the adjacent Tescos, buy some beer and drink it outside. Our beer of choice? The rather surprisingly drinkable (when you are thirsty and trying to make a point) Tescos Value Lager at 88p for 4 cans. We bought these and 2 reduced "Simpsons" advent calendars (chocolate for sustenance) and we stood outside until we finished, hopefully putting off people from going outside before leaving and heading for Balham, our last hope of a decent pub on this so far mostly disastrous evening...
