Given the closed toilet at the last pub we were both struggling following a long wait for the tube. We headed right out of the station but soon realized there was nothing that way so had to trace our steps back to what would have been a simple left out of the station and a two minute walk! Inside the pub was very big and quite busy… maybe due to the cheap lager or the fact that this pub closes no earlier than midnight EVERY day!
Another draw for the punters was possibly Manchester United’s inevitable humiliation at the hands of Southend! Such a large pub took a while to circumnavigate but we found a table and settled down to the match. The beer was good and I was drinking as if there was no work the next day (there wasn’t!). We tore ourselves away from the football in the knowledge that time was flying and we were about as far out as you could get on the underground. A final beer beckoned at Northolt...
