Canning Town is quite a big station with an attached bus station, but we found a pub by turning left, going through the bus station, under the flyover and then turning right onto Canning High Street. We passed a closed pub, but then found the Ordnance on the right. The place was hot and busy with lots of young people in here. Suspect there is a college or uni nearby. It was a cavernous place with white decor making it slightly cold (despite the heat!). Old tin signs nailed on the wall seemed out of place really. There is a large central bar and pool tables around to the left. A few men watched the footy on the TV whilst everyone else strained to be heard over the level of the music. It took ages to get served at the bar before we realised that the barman's tactic for this busy evening was to only serve people immediately to his left! Once we sussed this, drinks were forthcoming and we sat down. Nothing much doing apart from the jukebox, which must have been on random when it was playing the R&B cack, cos it played my Andy Williams as soon as we put some cash in. I left Tim and Guest 13 to enjoy some proper music as I had to get off, but vowed that next time it would be a better session, starting at West Ruislip...
