A nice setting, very pubby, with OK music but startlingly empty for a Friday |
| Facilities | Austin Powers Pinball, Sega Rally '95, 2 x fruits, Juke Box, 2 x TVs, 1 x Projector Screen, 3 x Widescreens, pool (£1), Draw Poker game | |
| Ladies | Nice barmaid, a couple of others and some old hags |
| OVERALL | Not bad, but could have been so much better |
A simple "right, left, right" out of the station and ulysses The James Joyce pub which has a main entrance cunningly disguised as a Green Grocers. It is possible that the fake frontage fools many a would-be punter as on this Friday night we could not believe how empty the pub was (note - there is a pub next door which may explain this but we didn't have time to venture there). On entry our party dispersed in all manner of directions to take advantage of the numerous facilities which equated to roughly one per MD'er! The pub had a nice feel to it and the promise for a good night out if only it would have been busier. We spotted a sign advertising that all pints were £2.05 between 11-7, Mon - Fri and wondered if we had missed peak time in the establishment. Nethertheless, we chatted, established how everyone new each other a bit more and sunk our pints before moving on to Preston Road...
