 OVERALL  Like a hotel bar

This was our longest trip so far (measured by railway track distances, we're not geeks, honest!) for a beer and it wasn't really worth the effort. We were met by the erstwhile guest 12, who showed us the way to the high street and the local pub. The outside looks like a "proper" pub and so we were surprised to find that the place had been done out with leather sofas, arty pictures and so forth. Perhaps the local landlord is going for the media crowd as Tim helpfully informed us that "Elton John's mum lives in Pinner". Sometimes I really wonder about that boy. The barmaid hissed the prices at us through her braces and a friendly local geezer both translated and offered his opinion that it was a good price for a lager. Thanks mate. The exterior and the big beer garden indicates the history of this pub, but it definitely comes over as a chain hotel bar now. We were joined for a very quick sup by the soon-to-be guest 17 before we headed back the station and headed for North Harrow...
