In our slightly inebriated state,
we arrived at the station to be confronted by the now usual sight of rows and
rows of houses and not a snifter of a pub. We decided not to toss for it and
headed left, down a hill, turned left at a roundabout, up a hill, left again and
eventually found ourselves at The
Central. Rats. We had obviously gone around in a big circle. A little bit of
thinking and we decided that the next pub we reached would be the
qualifier. Inspired thinking indeed. The Joiners Arms is a largish place with
cheap beer. The place was rammed with gorgeous women all over the place (note
Tim's removal of his tie...).
We headed to the beer garden and sat near a table
of 4 likelys and another table with about 20 Chinese cuties on it.
Unfortunately, the local residents must have a say in things and the beer garden
was shut up not long after we arrived, but some tactical positioning on the
happy fruit (bonus ball £12 win) meant we still had a perfect eyeline to the
lovelies. To be honest, being anywhere in the pub would have been the same,
there was not an ugly bird in the place. We both decided that Finchley would be
a nice place for a single guy to live given half the chance... But for now, one
final stop, mopping up an orphaned station at Kentish
Town...
