After leaving the station, there is a large roundabout, which we crossed and headed up the road almost directly opposite the station entrance. The Bodhran (a type of Irish drum it appears, MD is educational as well as informational you know!) is immediately on the left. We edged our way past the outside drinkers to be greeted by a longish bar, populated with guys and a group of what Tim described as "Stereotypical football fans" i.e. Hooligans, accompanied by their female equivalents. The tumbleweed briefly rolled across the bar as they took in Tim's MD outfit before getting back to their copious summer drinking. After a wait of almost 10 minutes as the barmaid served the hoolies a massive beer order which came to 70-odd quid, we finally got our drinks and decided on a tactical seating arrangement. i.e. we hid around the corner. The decor was bizarre with a lot of wood paneling, little cupboards filled with cups and the bar actually had its own slate roof. There was also a beer garden at the back but we didn't venture out there. There was nothing really to keep us here, so we avoided eye contact on departure and made our way to Edgware...
