The Oporto can be found diagonally opposite from the DLR station. We instantly knew this pub had marathon pedigree as it proudly displayed a certificate for being "The best dressed pub in Tower Hamlets on Flora London Marathon 2005 Race Day"... some boast indeed! We chose a couple of seats opposite a particularly beefy teddy bear who was geared up for the World Cup. The rest of the punters were clearly there for the duration but they seemed "suit friendly" as we stood out marginally less than the teddy bear. (We'd also spotted a police station next door and therefore felt less fear!). We whiled away a pleasant beer, admired the outdoor seating and reluctantly trudged back to the office. World Cup 2006 exploits would slow down our MD progress until we next met at West Ham....
