And lo! the Marathon Drinkers Christmas Party (TM) was born! Yes, this evening was due to be a gathering of Guests old and new, friends, Romans, countrymen and hopefully some top totty under the mistletoe. Our leanings in that direction were curtailed/helped by the presence of the partner Guests 3 and 5 right from pub one of the evening. We found them already drinking at the pub and discussing rule changes for the MD night. These were treated with the contempt they deserved and the first round got in. The absence of any decent lager and the knowledge that it would be a heavy night led me to order a Guinness, with which I stuck for the night. The pub was absolutely heaving with Christmas parties and it soon got very hot. There was mood lighting and a boudoir area on one side or the bar and a games area on the other. A large group were dressed with a tartan motif making them look like a Bay City Rollers Convention, but as some were nice looking ladies (ex-groupies?), we let them off. Guest 3 enjoyed a pint of "Rosey Nosey", Guest 2 arrived and Tim demonstrated his new Guinness holly embosser (unsuccessfully, more of this at the next station). A good start to the evening, but more guests were waiting for us at Fulham Broadway...
