The bright lights of this place were visible from the tube platform and it was only on close inspection that we identified that this was a bar and cafe. However by now we have a pretty good idea of what qualifies as a valid MD stop and the presence of beer pumps and a TV showing Champions League football clinched it for us. A smallish place which is roughly divided in two by the bar, we sat on the right hand side in the window. The place is obviously a trendy cafe by day and bar by night. We were served by a very VERY friendly redheaded barmaid of good quality who immediately made us feel at home. Guest 13's specialist DJ knowledge informed us that the easy-on-the-ear music which was playing was a "Speed Garage" mix of the Casualty theme with the bass turned down to make it acceptable.... there's no answer to that. A filled in World Cup wall chart reminded us that this is David Beckham country (originally anyway). In a similar vein, the tube station was decorated with numerous murals depicting Hitchcock (another local boy) films. Paperback books and a cribbage set finished off this place nicely as did the decent festive decorations. A very nice place bearing in mind what it looked like from outside. We headed back to the tube, narrowly averting a potential trip to the Saucy Kipper (chippy!) by Guest 3,and headed for Leyton...

Come on Becks!

A local boy at work, marvelous mosaics. Well done
