After the mini hike at Woodford, we were pleased to find that the Railway Bell is conveniently placed directly outside the George Road exit of the tube station. A festive looking place, they have obviously made quite a good effort here. The standard baubles, tinsel and trees were supplemented by a massive festive nativity style model that ran most impressively the length of the top of the bar. The non-festive decor had a mahogany and glass theme with a barrel motif, very nice. The barmaid managed to cock up an order for two beers, but showed us why she was employed by wearing a nice tight top, shame about the "boat race" or this pub would have scored higher for totty! We got a decent seat, ate some tasty crisp courtesy of Guest 3 and enjoyed a festive pint. The only downside was the jukebox, which was obviously on free play and so kept pausing for 30 seconds, slightly effecting the mood. We left in the throes of a discussion on whether or not we would pop into a pub so close to the station like this every day on the way home from work if we lived at such a station. The result, JJ: yes, everyone else: no. Huummpphh. On to Snaresbrook...
