After abandoning our plan to hit 6 pubs this evening, we settled in at the Boston Bar after turning right out of the station. My notes on this place are fairly hazy, which is quite apt given the drinking we had done that evening. We managed to get a nice big table (hence the good group photo) and settled down to enjoy our final drinks. The pub was ok, but all the excitement was centered around getting home. I decided to leave to try and get home and so downed my pint in quick order, said my goodbyes and left. After grabbing a kebab and heading to the station to find there were no more trains for 18 minutes, I headed back sheepishly, kebab in hand and had another quick pint. I then left again and set off for Seven Sisters, only to find there were no over ground trains due to engineering works. A call to Tim revealed that everyone else was in trouble as well. A fatality at Finchley Central had closed down the Northern Line. Guest 11 had commandeered a bus and everyone else was heading home in taxis! I dived back on the train and managed to catch up with some of the others at Vauxhall resulting in the now-obligatory sleepover on Tim's living room floor. The things we have to go through to get these reviews done for you readers! It had been a great evening with two pairs of new shoes, six guests, of which two were new, and at least 2 very reasonable pubs discovered. Would there be as much excitement next time out at Poplar....?
We now have more female guests than males.......get
in!!!!
