With an ambitious plan of 5 guests and 6 pubs, we headed off up the Barnet branch of the Northern line to Finchley Central. After a boiling hot journey, we met up with Guest 8 and headed up the hill to find the Central. A nice open place with a mixture of seats, including benches and sofas, this place has obviously fairly recently been renovated into a pub/bar. After the initial excitement of discovering they sold VB, the dilemma of how to get a qualifying pint in was solved by the purchase of two bottles and the procurement of an empty pint glass from the friendly hispanic barmaid. We sat on some easys overlooking the street and the Salsa club opposite and enjoyed our drinks. The bombshell that, not one, but two new guests would be expected shortly was dropped and it was Happy Days all round. Guest 8 got out his new PSP and we marveled at the clear definition on the "special interest movies" that he had brought with him. We had already clocked the magazine rack with Maxim and Arena. Guest 3 arrived to inform us that Elle magazine was in fact the prime selling point of the place. We left scratching our heads and set off for East Finchley...

VB, the beer of the Gods - and Guest 8 it appears

An ecstatic Guest 3 earns another cap!
