Marathon Drinking.... it's a small world isn't it? Just as we were setting off for a lunchtime drink with the brand shiny new Guest 9 we bumped into Guest 8 at the Canary Wharf DLR. Unable to join us for a cap we bid him a fond farewell and boarded the DLR for what is surely the shortest journey we'll ever take. Thirty seconds later we disembarked at West India Quay and took the nearest bridge back across the river from whence we came. We entered the usually smoky Cat and Canary and found a good vantage point to survey one of our local haunts with fresh eyes. Guest 9 (wallowing in the delights of a first cap) seemed slightly bemused by proceedings but we are confident she will get the bug and soon make her way up the Guest Leaderboard. The pub is a nice enough affair, with good river views and outdoor seating in the summer. We will definitely return but probably because it's our local when we are at work and certainly because there were 5 barmaids on show during this visit - the highest quota yet! The tour now heads further afield with an away fixture in Dublin...

Guest 9 ups the already impressive female guest portfolio
