We embarked on the evening's double with a little trepidation as the last time we came out with Guest 3 we ended up in a gay emporium. For all we knew the Mansion House pub could have been a gay bar as there were no clientele at all, save for a couple of pop-ins and a bloke who bizarrely ordered a glass of milk, supped it and left! We were most impressed to see the first appearance of a table football game and even more impressed it was free. The barman was so bored he started playing with himself.... but he was soon joined at the table by a guy we suspected was the landlord and the two of them merrily played football. It was then our opportunity to take to the table and we had a fairly enjoyable game. The score is not important, but for the record I hammered JJ 10-5 and ignored his whimpers of a "downwards slope" on the table. This pub was ok and obviously had been recently renovated but we felt that the stylish blinds and roaring (fake) fire had scared off the somewhat rough and ready locals. Probably your worst nightmare as a landlord is opening a nice pub which no-one visits, or maybe we were a bit harsh? The next pub at Oval would prove what South London had to offer on a Tuesday night!
