OVERALL  We actually would have stayed for another if we had time

After the success of Cutty Sark, we were dying to get a sneaky one in before the weekend and so with some excitement, we headed for our very first stop on the East London line, the last virgin MD line to be broken in! We left the station and Tim molested a ten year old on a bike, sorry - that should be accosted a ten year old who was riding a bike, Tim was neither on a bike or a molester.... Anyway, I seem to be rambling.... anyway, imagine our excitement when the child not only directed us to the nearby Adam & Eve, but also gave it a glowing recommendation as a great pub to drink in! Our shock was somewhat tempered when we saw the sign on the doors "No kids after 8". He was obviously a lunchtime drinker. Fair play to him. And fair play to all the others who had been in there all day. This is a return to "farking" country, with every other word a curse, but it somehow seemed friendly. There was a wide variety of locals including a near seven foot giant, a punk and a new romantic! We declined to buy some cards or darts from behind the bar and just sat on some stools, sneakily took our photos and then enjoyed a pint. Whilst not somewhere to take your bird to, you could pop in here for a single, especially if you were in civvies. The lady behind the bar offered us the same again and we were sorely tempted, but we both had prior engagements and so we headed off on our merry ways, oblivious that this would be our last MD trip for nearly two weeks when we finally made it to Kennington .....
