OVERALL  A true "Olympian" of pubs

With Tim's Birthday being recently and, far more importantly, London sticking one up the French by thrashing them in the Olympic Race, there was reason for a real double celebration. Guest 3 had orchestrated a special MD birthday night, with more Guests than ever before, as a surprise for Tim and we planned to start off at Goodge Street. After hiding from Tim at Canary Wharf tube station, I made my way to the station to wait for the dynamic duo and there met the familiar face of Guest 1. However, Tim's knowledge of our remaining pubs rumbled the ruse as there was no other reason to go to Goodge Street and the surprise was mooted somewhat. An, as yet, ungrateful Tim noted that he had "put some aftershave on for this". Never mind, with the British Standard "Birthdays and Bank Holidays" regulation, he would only have to wait until August before his next chance of a portion! Now, on to the pub itself, a beauty of a pub with lovely hanging petunias (becoming a MD theme) and on two levels. The nearby college had supplied a large number of young female students all ready for tuition, but Guest 1 was too busy telling us the details of his recent date (too personal to mention here, but believe me, it was hilarious) to really notice his luck on being part of this trip. We sat outside and were serenaded by some jazz buskers and the ambience was really great. Just as we were ready to leave the two new Guests, the delectable Guest 6 and the "big fat" Guest 7, were met and then introduced ready to earn their very first Marathon Drinkers caps at Tottenham Court Road.
