More of the same. These places really are just like a very slightly unmarket Wetherspoons |
| Facilities | Two fruits, and ItBox and a cash machine | |
| Ladies | An OK foreign barmaid and some quite nice looking Japanese girls |
| OVERALL | T&J standard |
One T&J Bernard in an evening's Marathon Drinking is OK, two could be said to unlucky, but three is a curse! Our third trip of the evening to one of the "lovely" establishments. This one was particularly galling. OK, positives first. There was a nice print of a black and white photograph of a Thomas and James Bernards van from the turn of the century on the wall which we liked. Now the negatives. Not content with having curly hair, forgetting the order of customers and generally serving at a snails pace, the spanner behind the bar then proceeded to whoop "Waheeyy, perfect!" as he finished off pouring the Guinness. No, it wasn't. A 10 minute wait to receive a pint with a head the size of a medium loaf made Tim snap and a top-up was demanded. This guy was clearly out of his depth. Tim also noticed they had t-shirts stuck on the wall advertising a T&J Bernards pub crawl around the Kensington area. As it happened we had already covered a fair number of these on our travels anyway! OK, one more positive. We sighted 3 Japanese girls who were quite nice and also impressively were supping away at pints of lager, presumably that they had ordered by mistake. We waited to see if they got another round in (they didn't) and then left for our final stop at Gloucester Road.
