OVERALL  We'll leave this one to the tourists

This beautiful sunny evening started with the longest wait we have had to get served.  Just as the lone barman became aware of my icy stare, I was gazumped by some Yank ordering non-alcoholic lager.  We just shook our heads.  It had already been a bruising walk in the heat to find this place, because, like most of the tube stations in this area, the pubs are tucked away in the back streets (this one being a right out of exit one at the station, 500 metres along the main road and then a left down the first road you can take).  From the outside this pub had looked very nice and homely - it was covered with colourful summer flowers (Petunias I think).  Inside it was clean, well kept and full of "old" books and other English knick-knacks designed to reel those tourists in.  It also served a range of beers from "London's oldest brewery" - Shepradneame.  Beyond that and the first MD outing for JJ's shorts there is not much more to say.  If back in the area we would certainly try the Nag's Head, which is next door, but the night was young and Knightsbridge was calling...
