This was a night we chose to visit the "dirty triangle" which were the three Zone 1 locations for which our expectations were very low. We started at Borough and took a right out of the main exit to find The Hole in the Wall and it turned out to be not quite the hole we had expected. The frontage is not particularly enticing but inside there are comfy leather sofas and a fresh 70's decor-feel to the place! There was only one barmaid who managed the amazing feat of having no breasts but she was friendly enough given her circumstances and she knew how to pour a Guinness. We headed for the blue pool table and resumed our series. With a 2-1 victory on the night, I finished with an overall 3-2 series lead over JJ. We had spent longer than planned in here and had already ordered a second pint before we knew what was happening. A quick check of the rules affirmed there was nothing illegal in a two pint stop so we savoured the liquor before reluctantly setting off to The Elephant and Castle...
