A very busy friday feeling |
| Facilities | One fruit | |
| Ladies | Loads, well distributed around the pub in medium-good quality. These are the semi-intelligent posh birds you might take home to your mum |
| OVERALL | Full of nobs, but a happening place for sure |
After the soaking we received at St. Paul's, we were hoping for an easier run here and there were two options close to the tube station. We headed for the one that looked closest and ended up at the very traditional looking Cittie of Yorke. This pub belongs to the Samuel Smiths brewery and as such, they only sell their own brand drinks, which caused some consternation at the bar! The service was pretty poor as it was so busy and the order was delivered incorrectly, raising the wrath of Guest 4 3, who had drawn the short straw of going to the bar. We sat down with our drinks in a booth and surveyed our surroundings. The pub itself is in an old style building with high vaulted ceilings and large stylised barrels indented into the walls. There is also a second (smokeless) bar at the front of the pub and a downstairs cellar bar which would be suitable for parties etc.. Now Chancery Lane is lawyer country and as such the place was full of Thomas Pink'd, gelled mullet, gormless twats which immediately made the skin crawl. The plus side being, of course, that money attracts the sorts and the place was buzzing with women like flies round the proverbial(very apt actually). The guests were totally unimpressed with this place and preferred to attempt their Sudoko puzzle with some good success. Our tummies were rumbling and so we rounded off the evening with a trip to Wagamamas, where the Sake flowed....but that's another drinking story. What would next week's outings bring? We would find out on Monday with a trip to Borough.
