OVERALL  Value for money smoky local

The second pub of the evening heralded a new dawn for marathon drinkers as the first guest drinkers joined us. Competition was hot for the coveted "Guest 1" tag as Edgware Road proved to be a baffling tube station - the two exits were separated by a flyover! Guest 1 overcame the logistical problems to locate us at the "Green Man" pub which is a simple right out of the Bakerloo Line exit. Only minutes later the soon to be crowned "Guest 2" arrived and the drinking party was complete for the evening. The beer was served by a friendly mustachioed barman who desperately reduced the price of the Guinness by 4 pence when he saw me taking notes. Facilities were good with the first sighting of a pool table and a good traditional jukebox. The atmosphere was fairly smoky and the pub's tolerance of a Chinese lady hawking dodgy DVDs somewhat soured the atmosphere. But the beer was cheap and the night was young, it was time for Guest 1 and Guest 2 to witness the phenomenon of Marathon Drinkers deliberating on where the next journey would take us. Paddington station was victorious and I had a hunch where I would like to be drinking...
